The Eiffel Scholarship Program initiated by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to assist French higher education institutions in their efforts to select the best foreign students for their masters and doctoral programs.

Its aims are (i) to train future foreign decision-makers in the private and public spheres in priority areas of study and (ii) to attract applicants from developing and industrialized countries to the level of French masters and doctoral programs.

The period of funded study must begin between September 1 and December 31 of the year in which the scholarship is awarded. The start date cannot be postponed. Scholarships are for study in France only, except in certain cases involving internships and exchange periods, as further explained.

Master Component

Scholarships are awarded for:
• maximum 12 months for scholarship recipients entering the second year of the master's program (M2)
• a maximum of 24 months for scholarship recipients entering the first year of the master's program (M1)
• a maximum of 36 months for scholarship recipients entering the engineering program.

If the scholarship recipient wishes to take an intensive language course prior to starting academic activities, the duration of the Eiffel scholarship can be extended for a maximum of two months, provided that the need for extension is clearly indicated in the application. The Eiffel Scholarship does not cover the cost of the language course.

Internships should be an integral part of the curriculum leading to the degree. Completing it should be a degree requirement. How the internship is assessed for purposes that count towards the degree should be spelled out in the degree program description. Recipients must obtain permission from their academic advisor to enter the internship. For purposes of the Eiffel Program scholarship, an internship agreement must be submitted to Campus France at least one week before the start date of the internship.

Doctoral Component

The Eiffel Scholarship is awarded for a maximum of 12 months in France. With the approval of the committee the scholarship can be divided into a maximum of three terms in France, none of which is less than 4 months. Under no circumstances should the scholarship period exceed 24 months, including time spent outside France.

Only law scholarship students can undergo French language training in parallel with their academic work. Permission to do so must be requested explicitly in the application. If the permission is not explicitly requested in the application, it will not be granted later.

Admin notes:

Indeed, time was not possible to register for a French university until it was accepted and then asked to be nominated for an Eiffel scholarship. At a minimum, this article can be information material for you to prepare if you want to register next year. Given the opportunity to apply for this scholarship only once. Those who have been rejected, there will be no hope of being accepted later, as mentioned above. So it takes maximum preparation in advance.
