This full scholarship is available to international students based on the relationship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) with their country. This Arabic language diploma program by the Institute of Arabic Language at King Abdulaziz University is a two-year full-time study program consisting of 60 credit hours. This program is designed to develop students' linguistic competence in Arabic in all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. It also focuses on using Arabic in real-life situations. This program mainly uses the Al-Arabiyatu Bayna Yadayk book series. Upon completion of the program requirements, students receive a Diploma Certificate in Arabic as a Foreign Language (DCAFL) and outstanding students have the opportunity to upgrade their scholarships and continue their Bachelor studies in undergraduate programs offered at the university.

External Scholarship Admission Requirements:

1. DCAFL scholarship applicants must:
A- has a high school diploma with a grade not lower than "Good". diplomas and transcripts must be in Arabic or English or translated into one of the languages ​​by an official translator.
B- aged between 17 and 25 years.
C- have not received a scholarship from any other educational institution in the Kingdom.
D- never been dismissed from any educational institution in the Kingdom.
E- provides evidence of medical health.
F- has a passport that is still valid for at least two years.
G- get government approval to receive scholarships to study in the Kingdom; this applies to nationals of countries that require Saudi students to give equal consent.
H- submitted two letters of recommendation.
I- (only for female applicants) accompanied by a male guardian (mahram) who according to regulations must have received a scholarship or have a residence permit (Iqamah), or will be employed by a Saudi employer who needs his services.

2. All certificates and documents must be authorized by the authorities in the applicant's country.

3. Electronic applications must be submitted within the specified time limit.

4. Once accepted, applicants must proceed with the registration procedure and plan their arrival as instructed by email.

5. Upon arrival in the Kingdom, applicants must pass the medical examination prescribed by the Kingdom and the University.

Scholarship Benefits:

1. Scholarship recipients enjoy all the benefits that other students have in common.

2. In addition, scholarship students are offered as follows:
A- Appropriate accommodation and appropriate educational, social and cultural care and guidance.
B- Monthly allowance.
C- Two months stipend on arrival to settle down.
D- Salary three months after graduation for delivery.
E-Subsidized meal.
F- Annual bi-directional ticket to and from their country.
G- Health services through universities and government health facilities.

3. Finally, outstanding students have the opportunity to upgrade their scholarships and continue their Bachelor studies in any undergraduate program except those offered in the following faculties: Medicine, Dentistry, Applied Medical Sciences, and Pharmacy.

Scholarship General Rules:

1. Students must promise to comply with the regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Residential law (Iqamah) applies to scholarship recipient students and therefore they must comply with it. The existing regulations in the Kingdom condemn extremism and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

2. Students must also maintain good behaviour in accordance with University regulations.

3. Students must commit to full-time study. Working for companies, institutions or individuals during the study period is prohibited for scholarship recipient students.

4. Students will be under the sponsorship of the University during the scholarship period and will be responsible for them.

5. Students can apply for a family visa in accordance with the regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

6. Travel documents/passports held by students must allow them to return to the country from which they were obtained without any terms or conditions.

7. Scholarship recipients are not entitled to transfer from one university to another.

End of Scholarship:

1. External scholarship recipients must leave the Kingdom upon completion of their studies within a period of not more than three months from the date of completion.

2. If a student does not complete the degree requirements during the actual duration of the program (four semesters), it is not permitted to extend the duration of his scholarship more than half the period required to complete the program (two semesters).

External Scholarship Application Procedure:

1. The online application form is submitted within the application period announced on the website of the Arabic Language Institute (http://dcafl.kau.edu.sa/).
2. All incomplete or inaccurate applications will be rejected.
3. Applications are then reviewed by the Admissions Committee which decides which applicants are nominated for scholarships.
4. Nominated applications will be submitted to the Ministry of Education for final approval and acceptance.
5. Accepted applicants will be contacted via email to verify at which Royal Embassy they have chosen to receive their entry visa.
6. After the visa is issued, the applicant must visit the Saudi Embassy for document validation and complete the necessary formalities to travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
