The Government of the Republic of Turkey annually provides scholarships namely Turkiye Burslari for international students, for various education levels and fields of study. So this scholarship is available for the Bachelor, Master, and PhD levels which will be preceded by 1 year of preparation for the Turkish language. Similar to a scholarship from the Government of the Russian Federation.

Based on the QS World University Rankings, there are 24 Turkish universities in the top 1500 of the world. The following are the list of Turkish universities:

Why you should study in Turkey?

Scholarship Coverage

The good news is that this scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship like the Saudi Arabia scholarship, not a partial one. The scholarships provided by the Turkish government include the following:
- Ticket of departure to Turkey
- Dormitory
- Turkish language preparation fee
- Tuition fee
- Monthly allowance, both for undergraduate students (1700 TL), Masters (2400 TL), and Doctoral (3000 TL).
- Health Insurance
- Return ticket to students' countries

Required documents

3. High school diploma and transcripts (last semester may register)
4. Diploma and Junior High School Transcript (Optional)
5. Diploma and Undergraduate Transcript (for Master applicants only)
6. Diploma and Master's Transcripts (for PhD applicants only)
5. English Language Certificate (Optional)
6. CV (Optional)
7. Social Activities; Awards, Projects, Certificates, Scholarships (Optional)
8. Essay Letter of Intent contains motivation for why you want to study in Turkey
9. Research Proposal (Master and PhD only)
10. Recommendation Letters (Optional)

* Optional means that you can complete the registration without having to upload the documents. But of course, those who fully upload may have a greater chance of being accepted.

Age Requirements

For Bachelors under 21 years
For Masters under 30 years
For PhD under 35 years

Grade Requirements

Applicants for a Bachelor's degree should have a grade of at least 70% or an average of 7.0 out of 10.
Applicants for Masters and PhDs have a minimum grade of 75% or a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.
Applicants for Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy) have a minimum score of 90% or 9 out of 10 or 3.6 out of 4.

Process and Time

The registration deadline is February 20, 2023.
Evaluation process March-May 2023.
Interview between June-July 2023.
The final announcement of scholarship recipients will be in Early August 2023.
Visa processing August 2023.
Departure to Turkey September 2023.

In addition to this regular scholarship program, the Turkish government also works with 2 other institutions, namely:
1. With NAMA Foundation: Only for students from Indonesia, Tanzania, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Yemen, and Malaysia.
2. With Islamic Development Bank (IsDB): The scholarships use a loan scheme that students should pay back 50% of scholarships after they graduate and get jobs.

The registration link is the same, you need to choose the type of scholarship when registering.


There is also a Turkish Diyanet scholarship, specifically for Islamic studies in Turkey. Available from high school to doctoral level.

Those who pass the interview stage or are rejected will receive information via email which is used for registration. The info is precise. Unlike the KSA scholarship that is not clear, it could be waiting 5 years before being accepted, so the old passport has expired.

May Allah give patience to the Muslims in Turkey and Syria who were victims of the earthquake.. Hopefully, it will be a redeemer for all mistakes and be a blessing afterward.. Aamiin..
